KSR Group expands its headquarters

KSR Group 9 October 2019

Space for design studio, many new employees and over 4,000 euro pallets

With over 60,000 vehicles per year, the Lower Austrian family business is one of the largest manufacturer-independent two-wheeler importers in Europe. It moved into its new headquarters in the Krems-Gedersdorf business park (directly on the S5/Theiss exit) in spring 2017.

Due to the positive growth, it quickly became clear that the new building (1st construction phase) with approx. 2,300 m² storage space and 860 m² office space would soon reach its capacity limits. Last but not least, the number of employees rose by almost 50% from 2016 to 2017.

In autumn 2018 the starting signal was given for the second construction phase – thus extending the company headquarters, which has now been successfully completed. A total area of around 2,200 m² was used for the extension. The majority of this area, namely 1,700 m², will serve as storage space. More than 4,000 pallets can be stored in mobile storage spaces. Just over 240 m² will be an additional workshop – for our customers of the KSR showroom.

A novelty at the location: A completely new design and development studio will be built on an area of around 240 m² in which the design process for the KSR Group brands – such as A-TO, BRIXTON MOTORCYCLES, LAMBRETTA and MALAGUTI – will be managed in future. Also a separate Clay-Area, in which clay models of the new products are created, as well as the equipment with a modern 3D-Printer, belong to it. In the full expansion, 10 people will work in research and development alone.

“Through forward-looking product planning, we have grown extraordinarily in recent years and have not only achieved the goals we set ourselves every year, but have also exceeded them. In the field of electric scooters, we are now the largest distributor in Europe. With the expansion of our building, we can now be more active in our own development,” explain Christian and Michael Kirschenhofer, owners and managing directors of the KSR Group. They also reveal “that our developers and designers are currently working on new BRIXTON models with larger displacement and on innovative vehicles in the field of micromobility”.

On the upper floor of the extension, more office workplaces have been created on more than 800 m². Due to the growth, the areas of logistics, order processing, disposition and accounting will be expanded in the near future.
