Motron Motorcycles

16 February 2021

On February 16, 2021 the Austrian KSR Group presented a new two-wheeler brand during an online press conference: MOTRON MOTORCYCLES.

With the “Follow the M” campaign, some buzz has been created in digital media since the beginning of January. A 4-part film series shows the life of Max Deeps (read backwards, his last name is Max Speed). Max has been repeatedly overcome by daydreams since the beginning of the pandemic and is asked by a woman’s voice to follow the mysterious M. The campaign constructs an interesting arc of suspense in Netflix style and entertains not only motorcycle enthusiasts before the mystery was solved with the reveal of episode 4, when the new MOTRON brand was also presented to the public.

MOTRON MOTORCYCLES presents itself in a fresh black and yellow, which is reflected in the entire brand identity and even in the design of the bikes, and is aimed specifically at the entry-level and mid-size segment in the two-wheeler sector. With a very attractive price-performance ratio, MOTRON sets new standards and relies on long-proven technology from professional partners.

MOTRON is starting the 2021 season with an extensive product range of a total of ten two-wheeled vehicles. The portfolio of the new Austrian brand includes not only classic combustion engine motorcycles and scooters, but also three electric scooters and an electric minibike.  The combustion engine models focus on engine sizes from 50 to 400 cm³ and are targeted at the entry-level and mid-size segment. The electrically powered models currently offer a top speed of 45 km/h and form a new alternative in the L1e class.

“The launch of the new MOTRON brand hits exactly the pulse of the times. Especially in times like these, when people are longing for a fulfilling balance to their pandemic daily lives, we appeal to a target group that can find in MOTRON a brand to start a new hobby, a new passion. Our brand slogan ‘GET OUT THERE’ underlines our approach to fight the difficult times, get out and have fun on a MOTRON,” state Michael and Christian Kirschenhofer, owners of KSR Group.

Available at the start of the 2021 season, the WHIZZ, CUBERTINO, VOLZ and VIZION electric models will be launched on the market first. The internal combustion siblings will be coming to dealers from Q2: The adventure bike X-NORD 125, the cruiser called REVOLVER 125 and the naked bike WARRIOR 400 together with the scooters BREEZY 50, VENTURA 125, IDEO 50 and IDEO 125 will make the start. Other internal combustion motorcycles, namely the NOMAD 125 and X-NORD 400, will be launched in the second half of the year. Of course, all models comply with the strict EURO5 guidelines.

The development and production of the models are carried out by experienced partners in Asia who work together with very successful and well-known brands. This allows MOTRON to take advantage of synergy effects and benefit from a long experience and sophisticated technical developments.

The MOTRON design line was developed by the KSR Group design team, which has been creatively active for 2 years in its own development and design studio in the Krems-Gedersdorf business park, Austria. Many coherent and novel design concepts, such as the unique Crossfire design line from Brixton, have already been created there. Characteristic for the MOTRON design are the fresh yellow accents on the at the same time modern and discreet colors black, grey and white.

For all models MOTRON promises a fair price-performance ratio. The introductory prices of the electric vehicles are indicated between € 1,899 and € 2,999. The 50cm³ and 125cm³ combustion scooters are available for € 1,499 – € 2,299. For the motorcycles, the price range extends from € 2,799 to € 2,999 in the quarter-liter class, and a price of € 4,999 is shown for the Warrior 400.

Sales of the new MOTRON models will initially focus on the European market, starting in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands and Greece. The distribution network will expand to other European countries in the course of 2021.
